Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) Valley Walk: The Legend of King Arthur's Sword, Excalibur.

A full day guided walking in the Snowdonia National Park. Walking with your experienced, qualified and friendly guide Joe, visit the valley at the foot of Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), the highest mountain in England and Wales.

Highlights:

  • The peaceful Llyn (lake) Glaslyn, the legendary resting place of King Arthur's sword, Excalibur.
  • Superb views of the Snowdon mountain range, including the knife edge ridge of Crib Goch and the cliffs of Lliwedd.

Starting at Llanberis Pass, we pass the Victorian remains of the old copper mines on the Miners Track. Continuing across the causeway over Llyn Llydaw, we make our way into the heart of the valley and Llyn Glaslyn, at the foot of Snowdon. We return to Pen y Pass. We will take you to an inn or cafe, where you may purchase lunch.

Time permitting, a short walk may be included to Cwm Idwal.

Cwm Idwal Valley Walk: The Legends of Twll Du and Llyn Idwal

Walking on good stone tracks we will make our way to the beautiful Llyn Idwal in the picturesque Cwm Idwal, home to some of the rarest alpine plants in the UK.

Highlights:

  • The legends of Twll Du (Devils Kitchen); and
  • Llyn Idwal, no bird of the land will ever fly across Llyn Idwal.
  • Beautiful views of the Glyderau mountain range from the valley.

Starting at Ogwen Cottage we walk into the Heart of Cwm Idwal, around Llyn Idwal returning to our transport and back to the port.

Requirements: Ability to walk for up to 3 hours, generally on good tracks with some uneven ground. Suitable outdoor clothing.

Food: Not included. We will take you to an Inn or cafe where you can buy a light lunch
